This event is very similar to the popular Battleships game played around the world for years. But in this event there are hidden objects in the sand instead of boats on the sea, but the concept is the same.
So bearing that in mind, look at the size of the objects that you need to find for the level that you are on and make your guesses accordingly.
For example, if you are looking for the sword which is the 4x1 object, then select squares that give you the maximize chances of finding something
Because I know the size of the object I am looking for the best places to look would be as indicated by the red squares in the screenshot above. If I guess to high or too low or too far to the left or right then I miss the object, but by aiming for the middle in this case, I have to find it because of the size of the object. And I did, as shown in the screenshot below.
When you are initially starting a new board in Egyptian Treasures, use a checkerboard formation to guess, so don't move across one square at a time, skip them as if you were aiming just for one color on a checkerboard. This is generally more efficient.
