LotR: Return to Moria – Where to Find Ironwood

Are you looking to get Ironwood in LotR: Return to Moria? Here’s how to get one of the most elusive items in the game.

There are three ways to get Ironwood and in all cases, there’s only a low chance of dropping it. You can smash up old furniture, destroy Dwarrowdelf outposts, or you can add the Yaroog-Iuthnul rune on your weapon and chop down trees.

Keep in mind that this resource is extremely hard to get and it might take a few minutes before you get your first piece of Ironwood, even if you have everything else set up.

There are three ways to get Ironwood in LotR Return to Moria:

  • Smash up Old Furniture: there’s a small chance to get Ironwood while smashing up old furniture
  • Chop trees with the Yaroog-Iuthnul rune: there’s a small chance to get Ironwood while cutting down any tree and using a weapon with the Yaroog-Iuthnul rune. The best place to farm trees is in the Lower Deeps area, and specifically in the Crystal Desert. As for the Yagol-Iunthul rune, you can craft it at the rune table for three emeralds.
  • Destroy Dwarrowdelf outposts: Upon reaching the city of Dwarrowdelf, you can destroy some pre-built outposts there. These will grant you enough Ironwood to get the Forge and Furnace.

Any of these methods will work but the second one is the most consistent overall if you want a lot of Ironwood. Just keep in mind that this is a mid-game resource and you might be too early in the game to get it yet.

The Lower Deeps are introduced later in the game and you’ll be able to access them through a deep hole in the middle of the map. Go down and you’ll be able to also find Anorin, Sunstone, Diamonds, and Emeralds.

Additionally, you have a chance to get Black Diamonds there. However, the chance is fairly slim. To find more of this elusive material, here’s how to find Black Diamonds in Return to Moria.

Keep in mind that Emeralds have a low drop chance when hitting Precious Gems, so you might need to mine for a while before you get enough.
